I just saw this video on tv and I wanted to share it. Rob Dyrdek is an amazing entrepreneur, I don’t even skateboard but someone that has done as much as he has is inspiring.

He’s inspirational, creative and always entertaining! This cat knows what he’s doing in business. At a young age he was a partner in multiple skate companies and more…

He’s really someone to follow and learn from… not to mention get a few laughs!

I just watched the first 4 episodes of undercover boss and I love it.  I thought the show might be pretty good but it was better than I thought.  In this blog post i’m going to share with you why the show is great and what I learned from it and hopefully it will help you in your business.

The show had some great hidden lessons if you are a business owner.

Here are some of the lessons that I got from the show…

Be Observant – One of the things that most bosses hadn’t done before they went undercover was to be observant of their company.  I read the biography of rich devos and one thing that really stuck from it was that he was so involved in his business and so observant that he didn’t even realize that his business was growing and doing so well.  Obviously you want to see the big and little picture in your business but be observant of your employees because their performance is the performance of your business so you have to make sure that they are doing good.

Learn Levels - Learn the levels of your business.  As an internet marketer I understand the whole process from start to finish.  Finding a market, website, products, marketing and more.  I think that if you don’t understand the different levels and jobs on those levels in your business it’s hard to grow the smartest way possible.

Be compassionate - I think that most of the bosses weren’t as compassionate as they could be but after the experience they understood both some of the problems that the business had and the personal problems some of their employees had in their life.  The more compassionate you are the more compassionate people will be for you.  The more you care about your employees the more they will care about your customers.

Everything goes down the line.  If you want your customer service to be compassionate be compassionate to your employees.  If you want your employees to lead and have confidence you better possess those traits too!

Like Ghandi said: “Be the change you want to see in the world” in this case…

“Be the change you want to see in your business”

One of the blessings of a bad economy is that the fastest innovators have fast growing businesses.  If your company is dying then look at where you aren’t innovate and start too! The companies that do best are the best innovators and adapters to change so be good at it!

I highly recommend that you watch the show, I have learned a lot from it and it’s great to see what people do out there for a living on a personal level.  The better you understand people and what they do the easier it will be for you to understand your customers and the easier it will be for you to sell your products or services to them.

Remember be fast to adapt to change, Learn the levels of you company and always be compassionate for everyone because that will continue throughout your company and to your customers as well.
