Don’t have a plan “B” it’s do or die for me…

Do you have a plan b?

ya know…

your parents or your high school counselor would tell you about the old “plan b”

I don’t have one.

plan b stands for…. Backup plan.

Plan A is: action plan.

there’s a problem here.

I have a little story to tell about plan “b’s”

this past christmas we were @ the family’s house and my aunt started chewing my brother and i out.

She said “we should go to college” “get a degree so you can have a safe and secure job”

We both tried to explain to her that what we were doing was a little different than the “norm” if you will.

We are both entrepreneurs that want to build businesses that sustain our lifestyle so that we don’t have to go in and work at the old dreaded 9-5.

She hammered away at us….

she said “you said you were going to have a hummer… I don’t see it!” stuff like that.

Basically just doubting us and telling us what we should be doing.

I tried to explain… but she just couldn’t understand.

I forgot about it… life goes on… prove em wrong right? You know you can do it…

just take action!

So tonight I got a phone call from my dad “who is unemployed right now”

and he tells me that maybe i should start looking at other options.

I try to explain that internet marketing is my option. It’s my option a and there are no option “B’s” for me!

He is making the same amount of money i am right now… he works at a temporary job in a warehouse to support my two younger sisters.

It’s sad… but it’s true.

When my aunt was chewing me and my brother out about “how what we were doing was wrong” she told us that her husband… (our uncle) and our other uncle (her brother) both were working at jobs that they didn’t plan at working at.

They both were doing their plan “b’s” basically.

I thought about that… it got me thinking.

Does having a plan b actually increase your chances of plan a not happening?

I think it does.

think about it.
it’s law of averages… it’s doubting that plan a will work!

It’s giving you another option in case “plan a” fails.

Well.

I am here to tell you something.

From what I have seen and experienced in my life.

Don’t have a plan b. Don’t even think about a “backup plan” for a second.

Do what you love, Do what your passionate about. Do you.

Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it. That it won’t happen.

See…

It’s when we quit is when we fail.

If you “never give up” like winston churchill… You will succeed 10 times out of 10.

Sure the timing might not be RIGHT NOW! but you will succeed.

So…

Live your life… not theirs.

and DON’T give up.

great post, David, it makes a lot of sense.
Know your outcome, identify all the steps and keep going. without a doubt the way ahead fpr both of us, it seems.

respect,

Tony.

this inspired me SO MUCH!! Basically, I was down in the dumps because according to my family, “i need a plan b.” And I've been trying to tell them that I don't really have one, and supposedly it's just a horrible horrible thing to not have one… but now I'm GLAD I don't. Every moment that you spend trying to fulfill a plan b is a moment spent NOT fulfilling your plan a.

Thank you so much for posting this! :)
