Drive website traffic fast and free

in Traffic

Driving traffic to your website is the lifeline of your business.  In the WTC Method I share how simple it is to start an online business and continue to grow it and scale it up.

W stands for website, T stands for traffic, and C stands for conversion. Getting a website setup is easy and traffic is the next big step, most times traffic is the biggest struggle for online business owners. In the past 5 years I have learned a lot about traffic generation.

There are so many methods to drive traffic to your website for free that I highly encourage that you work on driving free traffic first instead of spending money on paid traffic unless you know that your marketing works and that you can profit from the get-go.

Below is a list of some of the top ways to drive traffic to your site… They are extremely effective and work really well so put them to good use.

* The power of blogs – Blogs are an extremely effective way to drive traffic to your site, this is powerful because search engines love blogs because the content is continuously updated and they continue to grow in both content and user interaction. Blogs really are future websites in my opinion. With blogging you want to update often with lots of great valuable content and link to your contact page or product page for them to take the next step in your marketing/business funnel.

* Comment & Interact – Another great, extremely powerful way to drive website traffic is to simple go out and find blogs and forums and comment on the discussion that is already taking place. Across the web there are thousands if not hundreds of thousands of opportunities for you to join discussions related to your market and leave your name and link to your website. When you leave comments on blogs your name links back to your website and in forums it does as well. This is so easy because you don’t need to be the expert/guru with all the information yet, you just have to join the conversation and leave your feedback. A big benefit of starting this way is that you learn and grow and take in a lot of information so it helps you when you start blogging and creating content to put out on the web.  Both blogging and commenting on blogs/forums are real effective for driving targeted traffic.

* Social Media – Social media and social networking just get me excited! that’s definitely one of my biggest passions online.

Using twitter, facebook and youtube to drive traffic are easy. You can post content and interact and can keep growing it as a whole. A lot of people don’t know about the other social media sites and profiles that they can use to drive traffic. That is part of the reason why I made Traffic On demand was to show people there are more and the more you use the better.  In social media it’s really all about finding your community and interacting and joining in.

It’s about building up networks on all of these sites so that when you have something to share you can share it with a lot more people on more sites.  In Traffic On Demand I cover using http://ping.fm as well, this is a very valuable tool and that’s why I included it in the course.

* Seo – Search engine optimization can be a little bit more complicated if you are just starting out but it’s something to have some knowledge in because you can start receiving a lot of free organic traffic from sites like google, bing and yahoo.  Basically to sum it up with seo you want as many incoming links to your site as possible.

So for example if you liked my site here and you wanted to share it with your bloggers you would simply link to http://Davidbeking.com in your blogroll or in a post.  By doing that it helps me because google sees more incoming links so they measure that as the sites popularity and how much people like it.  So by getting links back to your own site you are benefiting yourself in both seo and from traffic that clicks on those links.

Google loves incoming links so keep creating valuable content and people will continue to link to you and your posts.   Search engines love incoming links and content and they usually go hand-in-hand so keep creating content and asking people to link to you if they like what you are putting out there.

These 3 methods are extremely powerful so use them!

Using social media, blogging and seo is a powerful combination.  They really go hand-in-hand and if you are working at all 3 at the same time your results will be exponential growth.

That’s it for this post!

I revised and refomatted this site many times, and now at less that two years old, this site is welcoming over 150,000 visitors each month. Complicated - yes. Is success possible -absolutely!

    Hi,

    My music resource website - MakingMusicFun.net - sees over 150,000 a
month. Two of my sites are pretty new - MakingArtFun.com 3,600 per month (5

    Thanks for asking,

  • Hi David,

I found the magic of the blog for startups just a little while ago when reading the New Rules of PR and Marketing. Blogs ARE very search engine friendly and people love reading them as well. I need to pull up my socks when it comes to the forums one. Commenting on other poeple's blogs makes sense, because they love it when you comment and you get more writing experience and Google action as well. On top of that you build a tighter bond with your community of logs.

    Neato post!:)

    Cheers

    Hi David
I definitely agree that SEO and Social Media go hand in hand. People definitely need to make sure that all of their profiles are optimized with the right key phrases that they want to target for the Search Engines. Why not take advantage of those back links? As the owner of an Internet Marketing firm, I find that many people don't even realize what Search Engine Optimization is. A great place to start is Google's Webmaster Central where they can download a SEO Starter Guide http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/an...
David, you provided some excellent advice here. Keep up the great work! :)
  • Seo is very important! it can help you drive a lot of traffic for sure!

Thanks for the resource, I'm sure people can get a lot out of that!

    Take care!

So you're saying the key to social media...is to be social? Simple and true.

SEO is something I plan on taking an 80/20 approach though, I've read that it's kinda the way to go due to ever-changing algorithms and the idea is to just be consistent and stick to basic principles.
  • Be Be social indeed, with the right people especially...

Seo is continuously changing, I think incoming links will always have value though but I plan on focusing more in social media and networks.

    Thanks for the comment :)
