Outsource your weaknesses

in Business Strategy

In business outsourcing is extremely important, in fact it is so important that if you don’t understand it you will be limited to a small business forever.  If you always do things in your business by yourself and don’t learn how to outsource and out-task you will be getting less done slower.

By outsourcing and out-tasking you will be getting more done faster as a whole.

This allows your business to grow quicker and it allows you to work on your business instead of in it.

Over time you should be working less and less in your business and more and more on your business because you should be outsourcing more and more work to employee’s.

Your primary concern should be growth and speed of implementation and speed to bring it to the marketplace.

A lot of times you may get caught up in doing a lot of non money-making tasks in your business and I am writing this post today to give you a few tips on how and when to outsource or out-task and the difference between the two.

First things first i want you to understand the difference between outsourcing and out-tasking.

Outsourcing is hiring someone that does something consistently over and over for your business.  This might be paperwork, secretary or a salesperson.

Out-tasking is outsourcing for just one task to a contractor or independent expert.  For an example in my business I out-task graphic design, and web design/coding as of right now.

As time goes on i will continue to out-task these things because i don’t need a full-time employee for them yet.  But as I grow I will need a full-time secretary and a full-time web/graphic/programmer eventually.

In your business you want to focus on the things that you do best and outsource or out-task the rest.

For me I feel that my three strongest qualities are…

  1. Connecting with people, Networking
  2. Marketing and sales
  3. Education and product creation

So the smartest thing for me to do is focus on those 3 tasks for as much time as I can in my business and outsource the rest.

I encourage you to make a list of your top 3 strong qualities that you feel you can make the biggest impact in your business and focus on those.

Leave the rest to employee’s.

A lot of times you may catch yourself doing paper work or something that you know could be outsourced.

A good question to ask yourself is “Could I be paying someone to do this for $10 an hour?”

If the answer is yes, then do it!

You just need to calculate your WPH: Worth per hour and focus on the things that increase that and outsource the rest.

Here is a video I made about this to explain it:

I hope you got something out of this post!
