Reinvent the wheel, it’s called innovation

I have heard this phrase about a million times and i’m sure you have too “Don’t reinvent the wheel” and i’m starting to get sick of it.

What do you think Reinventing the wheel means?

It means change! it’s called innovation! If everyone keeps “Not reinventing the wheel” guess what? we don’t evolve, we don’t innovate and we don’t move forward.

So reinvent the wheel, do something different.  Don’t think outside the box, think outside your business… think outside your market… think crazy ideas!

There are times when you want to “Follow the wheel” and do what works because you know it works but don’t limit your thinking to doing just that and only that.

A lot of internet marketers and business owners need to reinvent the wheel because they need to innovate in order to grow their business.  Most times not reinventing the wheel is holding your business back and limiting you.

If you know what you want your business to do and you have a plan of action that is working for other people then follow it! but once you reach your destination and you feel that you are limited or there is some type of restraint in your business you want to “reinvent the wheel” at that time.

Spend time thinking about how you can reinvent the wheel in your business.

A lot of times like me you may get ideas that are way out of the box.  Someone may have never even done it before.  Think about google and how they reinvented search engines and the whole searching experience.

If you have an idea that seems crazy but you think you can monetize it and profit from it somehow then go after it and forget about the wheel.

If you don’t reinvent the wheel you are doing the same as everyone in the rat race except you are getting paid more for it!

Here are some questions that will hopefully help you reinvent the wheel in your business…

How can I create a new product that has never been introduced to the market before?

How can I create a new service that has never been introduced to the market before?

Do I have any concepts, ideas or websites that I think could give a lot of value to people?

How can I market my business differently than everyone else?

How can I get my value out into the world into more people’s lives quicker?

What can I do differently or to position my USP?

What are people looking for that is not currently in the market?

What would people in my market do differently if they didn’t care what other people thought of them?

There are so many ways to reinvent the wheel it is virtually endless.

Ask yourself these questions and more that you think will help you innovate and reinvent the wheel in your business.

I hope that you got some good information out of this post!

Funny you should mention this. This morning I was talking with a few of my business partners about new ideas and openness to new ideas. Many of us have the mentality of, “if it ain't broke, don't fix it.” It takes some of us years before we look into new ideas of technology and find out they're already outdated by the time we've discovered them. The questions you ask above are a prime example of the kinds of questions great entrepreneurs(and even people outside of business), have asked to make transformations in everything from technology to the scientific and medical fields. It's all about re-inventing, changing, doing something differently, constantly thinking at a high level to get bigger and better results.

I agree completely Clinton… You have to change and innovate! it's part of not only business but life. If you don't change you are dying… I believe you are either growing or dying so change is a must!

The great thing about change in business is that you can always change it back if it didn't work as well but 9 times out of 10 you will find that your changes are good and have a better impact on your business.

Keep up the great work Clinton!
