I read this book about a year ago and noticed on my bookshelf today and thought I should do a review on it on my blog! So here I am!

Problogger is a book written by Darren Rowse and chris garrett, You can find them @problogger and @chrisgarrett on twitter.

I got the book because I wanted to start blogging and take it seriously and make some money from it.  I love writing and educating, a blog is a great platform to do it from and had heard of  Darren and his blog and book so I decided it was time to head to the bookstore and pick it up.

For those of you that have been following for a while i’m sure you remembered that I started blogging about business, marketing, the internet and money at http://yougottaseethisblog.com.

I started reading problogger and got exciting about just blogging full-time for a living.  I started to see a little income come in when I first started, it wasn’t much at all though.

When I started it was more about building a community and bringing like-minded people together.  When you begin blogging this is definitely something that you want to do.  Form a community and then figure out how to better monetize it later.

In the book I discovered lots of methods for promoting and marketing my blog and just making the blog a more effective machine that worked for me.

The thing I loved about the book was that he covered the different blog platforms, what to use and what is best for you.

He covered the different ways to research and write content and how to make it appealing.

Then he covered how to market it and promote your blog effectively, there are so many ways to do this.  By simply blogging your are promoting because you will get search engine traffic now or eventually because of that post.  He also mentioned blog networks in the book which I haven’t gotten much into but there is definitely a benefit to them.

He also covers blog buying and selling so if you want a shortcut to getting started you can buy a blog or if you want to sell your blog and profit that way you can as well.

The book covers a lot but I like that it keeps it simple and take’s you from A to Z.  It is the best blogging book that I have read and if you have a blog, plan to blog or want to just learn more about blogging as a business or for personal use there is no better book to learn from than problogger.

I would say that the chapter I liked most in the book was secrets of successful blogs.

In this chapter Darren shares this few amazing tips along with others…

* Successful blogs have been around longer, approximately 3 years or more.

* Posting frequency, Do you post often? The better your work ethic on the blog the more successful it will be!

* Social media factor, successful blogs have content that people like.  Get interactive in social media and people will make your blog more successful by sharing and bookmarking!

Those 3 tips are gold blogging tips, that’s just a small snippet from the book.  I highly recommend you pick it up if you want your blog to do extremely well and succeed!
