I wanted to write this blog post for a while because it’s a big lesson that I have learned in my business online.  Email Marketing is in my opinion and the opinion of many others the most valuable asset to your online business and marketing.

Email marketing is effectively generating leads, and following up with them in the cheapest and quickest way to generate sales and revenue.

There are a ton of ways to market your business online and generate traffic but email marketing is by far the most important one and I will explain why…

Generating traffic online come’s in waves.  The more traffic you get the better because that means more money you will make.

Here’s a great way to describe your online business and marketing and why you should include email marketing in your marketing arsenal.

Imagine the Ocean is like the internet and you are on a boat.  The boat you are on is a big fishing boat.

Your boat is going through the ocean and the goal is to get as many fish as you can on this fishing trip.

You are in the fishing business and you want to catch more fish to make more money.   When you are fishing in the ocean your most valuable asset to the boat and your crew is the fishing net because that is what brings all the fish from the ocean onto your boat.

The fish in the ocean are the leads you want to generate for your business.  The fish can come in one at a time with a fishing line or you can bring in hundreds or thousands with a net.

The net is your email marketing autoresponder.  An email marketing autoresponder is what brings in the leads and keeps them in a database so that you can contact them again in the future to ore products and services.

It is literally the most valuable asset to almost all online businesses and websites.  The goal is to have a larger database so that your marketing campaigns yield higher returns.

These are the 3 reasons why you need to use email marketing in your business…

1. Faster Growth – Your business and website will grow quicker because instead of letting traffic stop by the site and leave forever you are effectively capturing them as a lead and you will be able to market to them down the road and send those same visitors back to your site to buy your new products or services

2. Follow up – You are a business owner and you are selling something.  Follow up is key in this process and you can’t follow up if they leave the website! You can have automatic follow up emails in your email marketing autoresponder that sell the products and services automatically.

3. Build Better Relationships faster – Having an email newsletter allows you to give them free content and resources.  If you build a better relationship with your email list they will be more responsive to the products or services that you are offering.  In the new age of business you want to build relationships with the prospect or customer and deliver value to them.  Your business runs on reciprocity.

There is something unique about the wtc method.  I have spent countless hours and money on Learning to make money online, But none of them sum it up like the wtc method.  Let me explain…

When I first started out I tried a lot of different things.  I tried ebay, clickbank, affiliate marketing, adsense, matrix pyramid schemes, I even tried cash gifting!

The List goes on and on.

The wtc method can be broken down within this blog post.

The first part of the wtc method is the w of course.  The “W” stands for website.  You need a website, plain and simple.  You can make money online through affiliate marketing without having your own website but having your own website helps because it pre-sells the website visitor on that product or service that you are promoting.  A website is the first step to making money online.  If you want to build a sustainable business that lasts you will always have to create a website.  That is always the first step.

The second step in the wtc method is the t.  The “T” stands for traffic.  You need traffic to come to your website in order to sell your product(s) or service(s)! You don’t need to own a product.  For example I don’t own a product that is for sale but I do make money from affiliate marketing.  I promote things like hosting and internet marketing home study courses.  YOU NEED traffic in order to be successful.  There are plenty of ways to get traffic.  Search engine optimization is one of the best because it’s targeted traffic.  You can also get traffic through articles and social media sites like youtube, facebook and twitter.

The Thirst part of the wtc method is the c.  The “C” stands for Conversion! Conversion is simply the act of converting a website visitor to a sale or lead or some form of mulah… the money… the paper… the cheddar… You get the picture.

You need to learn some basic copywriting and sales material in order to effectively learn how to convert traffic into a sale or lead.  One of the things that I highly recommend that every website owner has is a blog and email newsletter.  By having a blog and email newsletter your website visitors get to know you and you can build that relationship.  By building that relationship you will make more money when you do an email promotion to your list or on your blog.

It doesn’t get much simpler, Just learn one at a time then move to the next step.
