In this blog post I’m going to share with you what I learned from the book so that you can take away the golden nuggets. I do highly recommend that you still pick up the book because this is one of the best marketing books that I have ever read! I know you will get a lot out of it.

The book covered so much and was so intriguing with it’s conversational writing style. I couldn’t put the book down, I read it front to back today without taking a break (for the most part!).

The first thing that I learned that I absolutely love and want to share with you is that there are three engines of a business. Those three engines are Operations, Finance and Marketing. In the book James shares with the CEO, Marketing Director and CFO of a company the “Perfection of marketing” approach.

Another awesome lesson I learned what a brand really is. We all have our own definitions of a brand. Prior to reading this book I may have said something like “An established company that has memory and recognition in the marketplace” or something like that!

A brand is simply a single idea that tilts sales in your favor. Think Nike, Apple and Coca-Cola.

The brand is composed of four elements and they are…

1. The Name
2. The Logo
3. The tagline
4. Advertising/Marketing Campaign

These four areas perfected make up the “tilting sales in your favor” part of the brand.

Let’s use Nike for example, The name is nike, the logo is the swoosh and the tagline is just do it.

The company reinforces the tagline, logo and name through it’s advertising and marketing campaigns. Nike is a perfect example of a brand that has each of the 4 elements. One question to ask yourself is: “Does my company have the 4 elements of a brand”?

If your company doesn’t that’s just another reason to pick up james book, to learn how to make these 4 elements work right.

Another awesome lesson that I learned about advertising campaigns was the four types.

The are…

1. The word hook (Example: nike)
2. The character hook (Example: Geico or Mc’donalds/Burger King)
3. The repeatable theme (Example: Citibank)
4. The consistent layout (Example: Continental airlines)

There were so many amazing lessons in this book.

James also talks about partner marketing and how it’s beneficial. I definitely agree with him when he say’s people need to see their competitors as partners instead of competitors. Seeing your competitors this way allows for more opportunity, leverage and strategic growth.

In this book he also covers ROI marketing. I’m sure many of you have heard this before but james really lay’s it out nicely. When you know your lifetime customer value (LCV) you know how much money you can spend to acquire that customer.

Knowing your lifetime customer value is really important otherwise you are marketing in the dark and you don’t know if it’s working let alone what in your marketing is working vs. what’s not working.

If you know your lifetime customer value it will allow you much more room to grow quicker. You can choose to grow fast or grow slow, me? i’m a fast growth guy… go slow for what?

This book was truly one of the greatest marketing books that I have ever read. James writing style is awesome, the whole book is a story with all of these lessons built in so it keeps you intrigued and is full of passion and a love for marketing.

James is also a meditating irish marketer! (I am too!) so I think he’s real cool just because we have more in common! Ha!

The book comes highly recommended by me, I highly recommend that you pick it up below!

Take care and have an amazing day!

David

I am realizing each and everyday what is important on the road to success. There are so many ways to grow a profitable business and be successful online. Info-preneuring and affiliate marketing are just a couple of the ways that I use along with a few more.

If you want to be successful I strongly suggest and urge you to take my advice that I give in this blog post and pay attention to what i’m putting out very closely because as I learn new things and have breakthrough’s in certain areas I will definitely share them here on my blog to help my friends grow their business and success as well. My blog not only helps you but it helps me learn what i’m learning better by regurgitating it and thinking about it after the fact.

There are a few things that if you continuously do that you literally cannot fail. I have spent countless thousands of dollars (in the 5-figure range somewhere) on internet marketing, business and self-development products. I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of how the web and web marketing/business work now. Much better than I ever did before.

These things that i’m going to share with you today will ensure your success and always provide you with opportunity even when you don’t see any yourself. Right now i’m at the point where I have so many opportunities and things to pursue that I feel that i’m missing out all the time! it sucks in some ways because i’m a very ambitious entrepreneur as some of you know!

But the benefit to doing these things is that you will always have opportunity and work to do. When you don’t have direction, guidance or a sense of what’s best to do at any given time these few things will help you out tremendously.

The first thing that you have to constantly do if you want to be successful and have an abundance of opportunities and partnerships knocking on your door is network.

Network your ass off! – One thing that I have spent many hours doing is networking. I don’t even network offline (for the most part) yet! I have just used social media to network my ass off! literally! Think about what market/business you want to be a part of then spend time networking with the leaders and influencers in taht space. I have a network that is literally probably 10-20 times larger and more influential then just a short year and half ago! The amazing thing is that I still can network with a lot of people! and get to know my current network better and build better relationships with them!

Networking is extremely important wherever and whatever business you are in. The person who is connected can always make things happen quicker and succeeds much faster, it’s just the way it is! For those of you that own twitter influence you understand how to network in twitter and I do have to say that twitter is one of the best places to network for me. Between twitter and facebook I have built a very large network and you can do the same.

Give Value, over and over and over – One of the biggest principles that any business owner and marketer really need to understand is the law of value. You are paid in direct proportion to the amount of value that you provide in the marketplace. So if you provide $800,000 of value to the marketplace each year that’s exactly what you will get paid! If you provide just $5,000 of value to the marketplace each year that is also what you will get paid. What you want to do is find your value, find your “niche” and give in that area as often and as much as you can. The great thing about blogging for me is that I always can give value and advice on business, marketing and overall growth and strategy just by logging in and writing.

What are you doing to put that value into the marketplace? Are you blogging? using video? or are you working one on one with people? if so how do you find those people to work with you and actually get them to want to work with you? The great thing is that there are so many ways and outlets to give your value online that there is no excuse. Also if you are valuable enough you can network with the big players in your market and just specialize in giving value to them. There are endless ways to give value and you know where you are most valuable so give that to the world and the world will pay you in return.

Increase your value – One of the things that you want to constantly do is increase your value in your area. So for example with me I want to constantly learn more about business, marketing, social media and growth strategy when it comes to businesses and ideas. That is how I will constantly increase my value. I have the ability to take a business from small to large and will increasingly be more effective at doing that. So ask yourself… what is your value? where would you get paid most? Once you give that value and network with the right people it’s a wrap! and if you constantly increase that value then your income will increase as well and your products and services can be priced higher because you are the exclusive solution not the generic one.

These 3 principles will explode not only your business and income but every area and facet of your life! You will have more friends, your friends family and network will be more appreciative of you because all of a sudden you are valuable with what you have and you are always increasing that value.

The people who network, give value and constantly increase their value over and over are not just millionaires, they are multi-millionaires. Do these three things and I guarantee everything will be more profitable and easier for you.

That was one of my longer blog posts! I hope that you got a lot out of it!

Please please please share this post on twitter, facebook and wherever else you choose! I spent a lot of time writing it!

Leave your comments and add to the conversation… what did I miss or what would you add to the “You cannot fail” post?

Thanks!

David King

-Henry Ford

Footprints on the sands of time are not made by sitting down.
- unknown

People are as happy as they make up their minds to be.

Ordinary people believe only in the possible. Extraordinary people visualize not what is possible or probable, but rather what is impossible. And by visualizing the impossible, they begin to see it as possible.

Plant the seeds of expectation in your mind; cultivate thoughts that anticipate achievement. Believe in yourself as being capable of overcoming all obstacles and weaknesses

Apply yourself. Get all the education you can, but then, by God, do something. Don’t just stand there, make it happen.

In order to keep getting more of what you already have, keep doing what you are doing. If you want something different, you must do something different.

It is so important to believe in yourself. Believe that you can do it, under any circumstances. Because if you believe you can, then you really will. That belief just keeps you searching for the answers, and then pretty soon you get it.

The way to develop self-confidence is to do the thing you fear and get a record of successful experiences behind you.

Are you bored with life? Then throw yourself into some work you believe in with all your heart, live for it, die for it, and you will find happiness that you had thought could never be yours.
-Dale Carnegie

Personal leadership is the ongoing process of keeping your vision and values before you and aligning your life to be congruent with those most important things.
Stephen Covey

Jumping at several small opportunities may get us there more quickly than waiting for one big one to come along. Hugh Allen

This is so true…

MY Quote…

“Ready, FIRE, Aim…”

“Don’t just sit there and wait for it, go get it NOW!”

David King,

Hey guys,

I was going to blog about a company today but I felt that I needed to encourage and inspire today. Who else wants to work at home? honestly I would say that over 90% of people in America would rather work at home then work at their “jobs” Honestly who really… NO Let me rephrase that WHO LIKES WORKING A 9-5 Dead END JOB that SUCKS, keeps you in the rat race and KEEPS you from living your dreams. I don’t know about you guys but their comes a point in your life where you have to come to grip with your self and say to your self just like I did at one time.

I will live my dreams.

I will make it.

I will do whatever it takes.

You have to have a burning desire to succeed.

You have to want it so bad you can actually feel it in your heart.

When I say you can actually feel it maybe it’s just me, maybe I just want it badder than you…

When I think about my life right now and the life I want I will feel a burning in my heart, Honestly a burning sensation. It comes from the inside out.

Believe in yourself, Be confident, take action, and Just Do IT Like Nike.

see there came a point in my life where I don’t I said that’s it, Forget this!

I remember I couldn’t even watch a movie after a work day without falling asleep halfway through the movie.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME! can I get some entertainment and relaxation without falling asleep from pure tiredness.

IF someone understands the rat race it’s me.

This is how it was…

Work a full 40 hours this week, work overtime on saturday.

Work 48 hours this week, next week, the week after, and the week after that and just keep working until you see the light at the end of the tunnel. Ohh wait your car just broke down, there goes the light going going gone. Ohh almost paid my car off starting to see the end of the tunnel, speeding ticket… Ohh the light leaving further, further,

Why can’t I just make it to the end of the tunnel?

BECAUSE THE TUNNEL IS THE EQUATOR AND YOUR GOING IN CIRCLES!

WELCOME TO THE RAT RACE!

If you don’t well then lucky you.

That’s who I’m looking for.

See the reason I write in this blog is for you, is for those people.
