Life is great.
As you go through life you learn from your mistakes and your downfalls and your so called “failures.”
I was sitting in my office/bedroom yesterday and I looked outside and there was a chevy trailblazer stuck in the parking lot.
I thought huh… that’s funny because there’s not even that much snow. I then noticed that it was just ice under their tires.
The suv was in drive… flooring it. Then in reverse flooring it. The trailblazer must have been their for at least 7 minutes doing the same thing! Flooring it trying to get out. But there was ice under the tires! How is something different going to happen when you keep doing the same thing!
The definition of insanity is: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
They were being insane! and I was going insane because I knew how they could get out in about 30 seconds. All they needed to do was go inside the apartment door and grab the salt bucket and put a little bit of salt under their two rear tires.
But they either didn’t think of it or realize that it would work.
It’s funny because I helped a lady get out of her parking spot who was doing the exact same thing.
I suggested the salt and she put it under the tires and I backed it right out.
Now I’m not blogging about this to prove that I’m “Smarter or better than you.”
Why am I blogging about this? because I do the same thing! and you most likely do too in some way or another.
Last night i was trying to figure out my new jawbone noise assassin bluetooth.
there are 2 buttons on this bluetooth and I kept pushing this button then the other and it didn’t seem to turn on!
Finally i charged it thinking ok… it could need charging.
But guess what?
I did the same thing when I got the bluetooth unplugged from the charger.
I pushed the same buttons.
I did this for a while…. thinking could it be broken? See i turned it on once and from what i remember i did what i was trying to do now.
The funny thing was this…
I looked at the manual for it and in about 30 seconds I noticed that you had to push both buttons at the same time and hold them for 2 seconds.
So I tried it and it worked.
I felt retarded! It’s funny because I saw someone else being the definition of insanity… and here I am doing it as well…
I know the definition of insanity and I try to not be “insane.”
But I was doing it too! we all most likely do it in some way or another.
Are you doing this in your life? in your business maybe?
I realized that i was doing it when i thought Ohh… I couldn’t be doing that. I know better than that!
What are you doing over and over again and getting the same result but expecting different results?
examine it, and figure out a different way to go about it to achieve a different result.
You want a different outcome?
THEN DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!
have an awesome holiday season and this New years… don’t do the same thing you always do.
David King…

This definition is used and used in business, again & again.
I think we try & let everyone know this definition, because, we hope, it causes people to re-think what they are doing. Well, maybe not WHAT they are doing, but HOW they are doing it, right? Right!
It’s a great feeling when people look up to you for advice because we aren’t always so emotionally involved in other people’s projects so we can take a look and see things from different angles. Angles that the people who are so close to the projects don’t always see.
Another great post, David. Thanks!
