I just finished listening to “The power of full engagement” audio book by Tony Schwartz and Jim Loehr and I got a lot out of it. The book really covers productivity at another level.
In the first couple chapters energy is explained as your most valuable resource. Everyone has the same amount of time but definitely not the same amount of energy.
Energy is spent in 4 ways:
1. Emotional
2. Physical
3. Spiritual
4. Mental
Time is not like energy, time is reset everyday whether you like it or not. Energy on the other hand depends on your habits, your health, your exercise and how aligned you are with yourself and your purpose.
This book was awesome because it walks through these areas and shares how you spend energy in any of these areas.
The book explains that each day you spend energy in each one of these areas and what’s important is for you to recover and rejuvenate your energy in each of these areas.
The book shares stories of people and how they run there lives at one point and then shares what tony and jim walk them through in order to increase their energy, engagement and effectiveness.
Everyone has the same amount of time but not the same amount of energy. Energy has a huge impact on how effective and efficient your work is.
Energy is your leverage on time that most people don’t consider, you can have a lot more time in an hour than the typical person because of your energy levels and your ability to recover and take time off to relax those muscles.
Just like a workout you overextend yourself then recover in order for your muscle to grow you want to recover in each of these areas and then do more and then recover more.
The more you do and the better you recover the more energy you will have in each of these areas.
Be sure to recover and take care of your health.
Get exercise, eat healthy raw foods and drink lots of water.
Also be sure to get enough oxygen, the best way to breathe is through your nose completely. Your nose acts like a filter and cleans the air and actually brings more oxygen to your body and brain.
Here is the way you want to breathe…

This book was great and I highly recommend it! Be sure to pick it up and recover and take breaks! You would be surprised how much more you could get done if you took small breaks and gained some energy back.
Take Care!
David King,
P.S. If you care about your energy this is a great book that will really help you bring your energy levels up.
